BingeReady Privacy Policy

BingeReady ("we", "our", "the app") is a personal TV show tracking application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
Account Information
- Email address and display name (provided during sign-up)
- Authentication credentials (managed securely by Firebase Authentication; we never store raw passwords)
Show Tracking Data
- TV shows you add to your queue, including season numbers, watch progress, ratings, reviews, personal notes, and favorite flags
- Recommender contact names you create (these are simple text labels, not linked to real accounts or phone contacts)
- Queue sort order and show status (Watching, Ripening, BingeReady, Completed)
Device Information
- Push notification token (used solely to deliver BingeReady alerts to your device)
- Device locale/region (used to show streaming availability for your country)
Onboarding Selections
- TV shows selected during onboarding (used to pre-populate your queue)
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not access your phone contacts, camera, microphone, or photo library
- We do not collect location data (GPS, IP-based geolocation)
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties
- We do not use cookies or web tracking technologies
3. How We Use Your Data
- Show tracking: To store and display your personal queue, history, ratings, and recommendations
- Push notifications: To alert you when a TV season becomes fully available to binge-watch
- Streaming providers: To show which services carry your shows in your region (data provided by TMDb)
4. Third-Party Services
BingeReady uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google) — Authentication, database (Firestore), cloud functions, and hosting. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- The Movie Database (TMDb) — TV show metadata, episode air dates, and streaming provider information. TMDb does not receive any of your personal data. Subject to TMDb's Privacy Policy.
- Expo — Push notification delivery service. Subject to Expo's Privacy Policy.
We do not integrate any advertising networks, analytics platforms, or social media tracking pixels.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore with the following protections:
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
- Firestore security rules ensure you can only read and write your own data
- Authentication is handled by Firebase Auth with industry-standard credential management
- Offline data is cached locally on your device for use without an internet connection
6. Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual shows, recommender contacts, ratings, and notes at any time within the app.
To delete your entire account and all associated data, go to Profile → Delete Account in the app. All your data (shows, recommenders, profile) is permanently deleted immediately. You can also contact us at the email below.
7. Children's Privacy
BingeReady is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your data in a portable format

9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
